We are recruiting for a Band 7 Psychotherapist at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (Sunderland Royal Hospital).

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support with a variety of emotional, social, or mental health difficulties - with a focus on physical health conditions. They will also help to treat these in an effective and confidential way.
Treatment provided begins with an assessment, taking place throughout a number of sessions between you and the patient. You will then tackle problems with the patient working in a multi-disciplinary team, utilising help from mental health nurses, psychiatrists, and a range of other psychological professionals. You will need to have excellent communication skills, emotional resilience and maturity, and self-awareness.

Part of Clinical Health Psychology Services Department, working alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues in physical health services to provide direct therapeutic input for patients.
As a core component of the Team you will provide evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to clients referred into the Service. You will help to integrate psychological mindedness to the wider MDT through consultation, supervision, joint working, and training.
The post holder will provide psychological assessments of referred clients based upon the appropriate
selection, use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources. This
will include psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect
structured observations and semi- structured interviews with clients, and other
professionals involved in the clients care.
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

- To have a professional qualification (HCPC/ BABCP, and/or further post graduate qualification training in CBT (or equivalent); to have a registration, valid and in date)
- To have the suitable experience in a mental health setting (MMHS, PCAMs, Bariatric)
- To be able to have excellent time management, organisation skills and maintain professionalism.
- To have the ability to learn and be with others and offer excellent experience.
