Main duties of the job
- To lead, manage and work as part of the nursery team to deliver high quality childcare for NHS.
- To be responsible for compliance with all Nursery (OFSTED) and Trust Policies and Operational plans.
- We believe that the first five years of a childs life are the vital foundations on which all future progress will build.
- Children learn best when they are healthy, happy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met and when they have positive relationships with the adults who care for them.
- You will lead a dedicated team of practitioners delivering care to up to 60 children aged 8 months to five years.

What youll be responsible for:
- To ensure the requirements of Ofsted Statuary framework and all other regulatory bodies are always met.
- To undertake managerial responsibilities and effectively manage your own time effectively.
- To adhere to the Nursery Policy Document, Trust policies and Operational plan and review any ineffective practice.
- To actively shape and monitor good working practice and hold a high regard for the delivery of quality, flexible childcare ensuring that the nursery provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children, parents and guardians always promoting positive play experiences.
- To promote the successful implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage through effective curriculum planning.
- To manage and develop staff and students within the nursery ensuring that they are encouraged to reach maximum potential.
- Actively ensure diversity both in relation to childcare provision generally and in the nursery, ensuring that a culturally sensitive environment is maintained.
- Ensure maximum use of available resources is promoted supporting the nursery budget achieves a break-even basis at the end of each financial year.
- Promote the nursery as a staff facility for eligible groups of NHS employees and evaluate performance through communication with parents e.g. using questionnaires and meetings.
- Ensure all staff have a regular personal development review and regular supervision sessions to support their development and learning.
- Consider what flexibility is required to meet the changing needs of the children.
- Spend 20% of your working time being room based to support staff and promote role modelling
- Being room based supporting key children and record keeping.
