have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant to work with us at East &
North Herts NHS Foundation Trust on their Stroke specialist team
Main duties of the job
Details about the roles:
Speciality: Paediatrics and Neonates
Location: Hertfordshire
Shift patterns: 8:00-18:00 Mon-Fri on-going, on-call, weekends/part-time hours also available
Hours per week: 20-50 hours available
Start date: ASAP- no end date, this is on-going the client will accept short term contracts
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Diagnosing, monitoring and treating children who are injured, ill or living with disabilities
- Performing comprehensive examinations on newborns and children to identify abnormalities and checking for normal growth and development
- Prescribing treatment methods, including administering medication, performing surgeries and other therapies
- Discussing diagnosis and treatment plans with parents and children
- Ordering tests & referring patients to Specialists
Contribution to the daytime weekly attending rota for NICU, HDU, SCBU and Transitional Care, during which time other clinical duties will be cancelled.
Day to day decisions about the clinical management of babies and children in the unit during their attending week
Out of hours responsibilities
Professional on the job supervision and training of Junior Medical Staff and ANNP with no named trainee educational responsibility.
Responsibilities as supervising clinician and clinical supervisors for carrying out teaching, accreditation and examination duties as required as well as for contributing to postgraduate and personal continuing medical education.
