Job summary

Main duties of the job

  • To take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating evidence based care for patients.
  • To identify patients whose conditions become unstable and liaise with doctors and acute services appropriately.
  • To assess the level of on-going nursing needs for people who may need long term care.
  • To provide support, guidance and supervision to junior staff

Qualifications

Essential

  • A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital environment within the last 3 years
  • Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines

System Knowledge

Essential

  • EMIS trained
  • Catheterisation,
  • Pressure area trained,
  • Wound trained,
  • Competent in Palliative care,
  • Able to administer injections- both diabetic and non diabetic.
