Job summary

University Hospital Southampton are offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, passionate, visionary and motivated individual to join our Theatre & Anaesthetic team. You will play an integral role within the team to provide cover for a demand of available shifts for you to choose to fit around you.

Theatre Practitioners are key to the smooth running of each theatre. ODPs will work closely with Scrub Nurse to ensure that everything the Surgeons and Anaesthetists need each day is ready and available.

    University Hospital Southampton are offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, passionate, visionary and motivated individual to join our Theatre & Anaesthetic team. You will play an integral role within the team to provide cover for a demand of available shifts for you to choose to fit around you.

    The Theatre Complex is growing to over 30 Operating Theatres with multiple specialities, planned and unplanned, including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, ENT / Max Fax, Cardiac and Neuro. The Team also covers services external to the Theatre Department including Cath lab, Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI and Endoscopy. Our theatres continually demonstrate ongoing excellence of patient care and are fundamentally about helping people to get well. We are the regional trauma centre, and support 24hour emergency patient pathways. This expanding department will provide you a worthwhile opportunity to broaden your experience within different specialities.

    You will be responsible for:

    Participate as an integral member of the theatre/recovery team, covering a full range of flexible shifts

    Act as the patient advocate and maintain high standards of patient care, in line with NMC or HCPC code of conduct

    Provides skilled assistance in one or more core areas - scrub, anaesthetics and recovery duties to the level of core competencies
