Main duties of the job
About the Trust
West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides acute hospital-based and specialist healthcare services to around half a million people living in Hertfordshire, north London and further afield.
The Trust was the first hospital in Europe to treat patients with Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, a type of ventilator that helps patients to breathe more naturally and recover more quickly.
Hertfordshire has the best of both worlds, surrounded by beautiful countryside but with good road and rail links to both London and Cambridge, as well as comprehensive bus services across the main towns (Hemel Hempstead, St. Albans and Watford).
Responsible for
- Recognising the individuality of the patient and help to meet his or her social, emotional and intellectual needs
- Will be involved in the delivery and coordination of ward activities
- Ensuring that basic physical needs are met, such as adequate diet, hygiene, warmth, comfort and safety
- Assisting in planned treatments in accordance with multi-disciplinary team approach
Qualification/experience:
- An NVQ Level 2 or above in Health & Social Care Qualification or Care Certificate Qualification that has been obtained within the NHS
- A minimum of 6 months experience if one of the above qualifications is obtain, if not a minimum of 12 months is required. Experience must be within an NHS or private setting such as Hospice, however Care Home experience is not accepted
