Job summary

South Uttlesford Primary Care Network (PCN) are looking for a self-motivated and forward thinking paramedic to cover maternity leave working across 4 of our South Uttlesford practices and local population on a full-time basis. This is a 12 month contract to commence in March 2026.

The role will operate across a neighbourhood of five practices, providing specialist paramedic resources and supporting the delivery of PCN service objectives.

Main duties of the job

  • Work as an autonomous, accountable Paramedic, providing a holistic approach including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to deliver high-quality patient services.
  • Work closely together, and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary PCN workforce including pharmacists and social prescribers
  • Use advanced clinical skills to provide education to patients and service users, promoting self-care and empower them to make informed choices about their treatment.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions relating to minor illness or injury, supported by senior clinicians as needed.

Our PCN covers 4 practices across West Essex, Peacock Surgery, Angel Lane Surgery, John Tasker House supporting 54,000 patients.

  • Working towards advanced clinical practitioner status

Qualifications

  • Be a registered paramedic, with current HCPC registration and have post-registration experience, ideally with some being in primary care;
