Job summary
Central Basildon PCN is looking to recruit a practice nurse on a full or part time basis to work within one of its member practices at Langdon Hills.
We are a paper light practice operating System One clinical system and relevant experience would be an advantage for this position.
Training will be provided where necessary.
Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
Main duties of the job
- Chronic disease management (diabetes, asthma and COPD),
- Cervical cytology,
- Routine and childhood immunisations,
- Vaccinations, ECGs,
- Ear syringing,
- Venepuncture,
- Contraceptive and sexual health advice,
- Child health and delivering health promotion.
- Other routine practice nursing duties to a wide and varied community.

- Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations.
- Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice.
Qualifications

- A relevant nursing degree.
- Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
- Fundamentals of Practice Nursing course (General Practice Nurse Foundation Programme) or equivalent experience or qualifications.
- Competence to undertake asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.
