Job summary
The Knares Medical Practice, part of West Basildon PCN is looking to recruit an advanced nurse practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team, to help us to transform and modernise pathways of care, enabling the safe and effective sharing of skills across traditional professional boundaries. The position is offered on a part-time locum/temporary basis for 8 hours per week.
The successful advanced nurse practitioner will work as an autonomous practitioner, diagnosing, managing, prescribing and discharging patients with illness or injury across all age groups including young children. This may be by face-to-face consultation, telephone or video consultation.

Main duties of the job
- demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers.
- be practising autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner within the designated speciality area to provide patient-centred clinical care. This will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the directorate.
- support new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient-focused service, and will ensure the safe treatment, referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in their area.
- have responsibility for leading the on-going development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including the development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.
