Prescription Clerk/Pharmacy Assistant

Job summary
Highlands Surgery has an opportunity for a prescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team, at the heart of our patient care service. This role is offered on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week to be worked over 3-4 days.
Main duties of the job
- Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking emails and tasks.
- Responding to all queries and requests from patients, chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
- Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in patient records.
- Sending out medication review invites.
- Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs.
- General ad hoc administration work.
- Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.

We are also a key part of our Primary Care Network (PCN), offering access to services such as social prescribers, emergency care practitioners (ECPs), and MSK clinicians.
