Are you a newly qualified pharmacist looking to take your first steps into primary care?

Walton Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our growing, multidisciplinary team. You do not need prior experience in general practicewe will provide full support and training to help you transition into your new role.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop clinical skills in a forward-thinking and patient-centred practice, working alongside GPs, nurses, and experienced pharmacists.

Main duties of the job

  • Supporting medication reviews and prescribing processes
  • Helping manage long-term conditions under supervision
  • Promoting safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines
  • Assisting in improving prescribing practices across the practice
  • Working closely with the wider clinical team to ensure patients receive the most appropriate care

Essential

  • Completion of a degree in pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Post-qualification experience in pharmacy (hospital, primary care or community), or working towards obtaining this.
  • Qualified independent prescriber, or working towards this.
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS).

Experience

  • Awareness of the breadth of common acute and long-term conditions that are likely to be seen in a general medical practice.
  • Ability to demonstrate general pharmaceutical skills and knowledge in core areas.
  • Ability to plan, manage, monitor, advise and review general care plans for patients with long-term conditions.
  • Ability to demonstrate accountability for delivering professional expertise and direct service provision as an individuals.
