Job summary

North Chelmsford Healthcare Centre and recruiting for a part-time receptionist (maternity cover) to work 18 hours per week on a fixed term contract until 3rd December 2025.

Salary: £12.47 per hour and £15 per hour after 6:30 PM and on weekends.

Working hours:

• Monday: 2 PM - 8 PM
• Wednesday: 8 AM - 2 PM
• Thursday: 2 PM - 8 PM

Flexibility is required to cover additional hours if needed and there is a requirement to work one shift at the weekend per month (4.5 hours). We are seeking a friendly and professional receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and administrative support, including navigating patients to the most appropriate appointment with the most suitable clinician. This is an interesting and important front-facing role within the surgery.

BLS training will be provided and full training will also be given on SystmOne (patient record system).

Main duties of the job

• dealing with patients queries on the telephone, by email, and in person;
• processing prescription requests;
• arranging home visits;
• scanning documents;
• chaperoning, and
• processing card and cash payments from patients.
