Job summary
Stanton Surgery is looking to appoint an experienced operations/HR manager to co-lead our organisation on a full-time basis for 37 hours, 4/5 days a week. This role will have the overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the surgery including staff management.
Main duties of the job
- Leading the primary care services, to ensure that the practice meets regulatory and contractual standards whilst remaining financially viable.
- Leading in all HR matters.
- Leading in all health and safety matters.
- Providing solid leadership, based on a sound knowledge of business management, finance, planning and human resource management, including recruitment.
- Meeting the reporting requirements of the partnership and complying with local and national KPIs and contracts.
- Coordinating and leading the operational delivery of the services in the practice, engaging with staff, patients and local commissioners.
- Attending local meetings, to represent the surgery, and reporting to partners.

- Developing effective partnership, with other organisations, to benefit the practice.
- Taking responsibility for security, repairs, insurance and maintenance of the premises, services and equipment.
- Managing all income, expenditure and accounts, as well as preparing financial reports for the partners.
- Handling patient enquiries and suggestions, including oversight of the practice-based complaints procedure in conjunction with the relevant partner.
- Being involved in managing the computer system, including organising any maintenance and developments to the system.
- Preparing practice business plans and annual reports, as directed by the partners.

Stanton Surgery is a rural dispensing and training practice located in the village of Stanton, set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside close to Bury St Edmunds. We have modern purpose built premises, which have recently been extended and provide a bright and airy setting in which to work. We serve a stable population of approximately 5,200 patients. We are part of Blackbourne PCN which consists of four rural practices. We offer:
