Lead Practice Nurse

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active qualified practice nurse with respiratory qualifications, to join the team based at Riverside Medical Centre for 15 hours per week, working on a Tuesday morning and all day Wednesdays. In addition to the duties normally expected of a practice nurse, the lead nurse will be responsible for overseeing the teams working day including duty nurse team, for managing and maximising ICB, PHE and NHSE driven targets.

The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices. We reserve the right to retract the advert if a suitable person is found before the end date.

Main duties of the job

• Management of clinics and staff to achieve targets.
• Stock management. Infection control lead.
• Specific condition management (ie diabetes, asthma etc).
• Wound care and dressings.
• Immunisations including child immunisations.
• Contraception.
• Cervical cytology.
