Job summary
Hingham Surgery is looking to appoint a deputy practice manager to help lead our organisation on a full-time basis for 37.5 hours per week.
If you have experience of working with the general public and ideally leading multidisciplinary teams and for a new challenge, then we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
- Oversee the patient navigation operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
- Oversee the provision of quick, efficient, and accurate dispensing of medication to patients, and to ensure effective financial control of the dispensary.
- Work closely with clinical staff to ensure the smooth running of the practice, reporting any problems encountered to the relevant person.
- Provide leadership, support and training for current and new staff ensuring that data quality guidelines are understood and adhered to.
- Ensuring staff adhere to policy and procedure at all times.
- Manage the maintenance of the holiday register for reception and dispensary staff.
- Manage the diary for all clinicians holidays, meetings etc and to make sure all the information is incorporated into the appointment schedules.
- Organise any locum or internal staff cover needed for doctors, nurses, or administration teams.
- Provide support to the practice manager in project work, and in the running of key systems and procedures such as payroll, pensions, accounts and health and safety.
- Arrange for contractors to carry out any urgent repairs needed to the building.

Our clinical team consists of a total of 8 GPs, 5 practice nurses, 2.5 HCAs, 2 clinical pharmacists, mental health practitioners, first contact physio, and social prescriber.
We teach year 3 medical students and are research active.
