Job summary
Kings Medical Centre has an opportunity for a receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis for 16 hours per week, ideally Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning. The salary for the 16 hours is £9,518pa. In this essential front-line role at the practice, receptionists help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed.
Main duties of the job
- Greeting and directing all patients.
- Managing patient medical request through our online portal.
- Making appointments and giving out appointment cards, where required.
- Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
- Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints.
- Advising patients of practice procedures.
- Registering new patients.
- Answering the telephone, promptly.

Kings Medical Centre is a medium sized GP practice with a patient roll of circa 8000. We have an experienced GP partner team and are a well respected training practice for trainee doctors and medical students. We have a family run feel, whilst offering innovation for our patients in terms of access to our services.
