Job summary

Kings Medical Centre has an opportunity for a receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis for 16 hours per week, ideally Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning. The salary for the 16 hours is £9,518pa. In this essential front-line role at the practice, receptionists help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed.

Main duties of the job

  • Greeting and directing all patients.
  • Managing patient medical request through our online portal.
  • Making appointments and giving out appointment cards, where required.
  • Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
  • Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints.
  • Advising patients of practice procedures.
  • Registering new patients.
  • Answering the telephone, promptly.

About us

Kings Medical Centre is a medium sized GP practice with a patient roll of circa 8000. We have an experienced GP partner team and are a well respected training practice for trainee doctors and medical students. We have a family run feel, whilst offering innovation for our patients in terms of access to our services. We work very closely with the other practices within our PCN to ensure we deliver the best care possible for our patients Rated good by CQC in October 2023.

  • Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
  • Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
