Job summary
Kingswood Medical Centre (KMC) has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic and innovative pharmacy technician to join our team on a full or part-time basis.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve developing our prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and efficient prescribing within the practice and supporting the reception and admin teams with complex medication queries. Other regular tasks will involve supporting the GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions.
The successful candidate will benefit from this unique opportunity to build up strong working relationships across our organisation and will be actively involved in how their role evolves over time.
About us
The Kingswood Medical Centre is a well-established general practice in Basildon providing high quality, compassionate primary care to the local community. Serving approximately 10,000 patients in the area and part of West Basildon PCN, we are aiming to support and strengthen the delivery of primary care services in line with the NHS Long-term Plan. We aim to achieve high standards of patient-centred care as identified for the specific needs of our population, whilst working to support a resilient and appropriately trained workforce. We operate SystmOne clinical system with a good history of QOF achievement and a CQC rating of Good across all domains. We currently have a multi-disciplinary team consisting of four GPs, an ANP, nurses, HCAs, clinical pharmacists, social prescriber, first contact physiotherapists and mental health practitioners. As such, you will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators and will be well supported with on-going professional development. The role will contribute to improving quality of patient care across the practice.

Qualifications
Essential
- Candidates must be a qualified and registered pharmacy technician with GPhC and hold a Diploma Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services.
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- You will have strong experience in either a community pharmacy or primary care setting.
- Evidence of CPD.

- Understanding of working effectively within multidisciplinary groups.
- Dealing with the public/patients.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Motivated and enthusiastic.
- Able to respond to change and apply new developments without difficulty.
- Demonstrates resilience and an ability to cope under pressure commensurate with the responsibilities of the post.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
- Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense.
