Job summary

Queens Park Group Surgery have an exciting opportunity for a receptionist to join their busy team on a part-time basis, for 20 hours per week, Monday and Tuesday 12pm- 7pm and Friday 8am - 3pm.

Working within a friendly reception team, this role is an essential front-line position at the practice. Receptionists help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed.

Main duties of the job

  • Greeting patients and visitors to the practice.
  • Booking in patients and visitors in line with practice appointments and visitor procedures.
  • Responding to all patient and visitor requests.
  • Ensuring computerised appointment system is up-to-date.
  • Booking, amending and cancelling patient appointments.
  • Distribution of completed prescriptions.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly.
  • Ensuring answering machine service is set up as per opening hours.
  • Scanning, read coding and distribution of mail.
