Job summary
Kingsway Surgery is seeking a receptionist/administrator to join our team, on a part time basis for 18.5 hours per week.
Our reception/admin team work mornings and afternoons on a rota pattern with a team of 4 per day, covering the front desk and shared back office, dealing with telephone calls using a queuing system, allowing 10 calls to be waiting at all times throughout the day. Our administration support team is also dealing with tasks from the clinical team such as emails, queries and scanning when needed.
We are looking for areceptionist to join our busy practiceteam and help make a positive impact on our local community.We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals, who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service.
Main duties of the job
- Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner.
- Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times.
- Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
- Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet".
- Strong IT and administration skills.
- Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
About us
We are a large surgery, of c.14,000 patients, working out of a new medical centre.
To support the reception staff and clinical team we have 2 scanning clerks, 2 prescription clerks, 2 secretaries, 1 nurse prescriber working in administration, 1 assistant practice manager and 1 practice manager as well as 2 volunteers who help with administration, contacting patients as required and dealing with records in and out. Our clinical team are supported by 10 receptionists, 2 scanning clerks, 2 prescribing clerks, 2 medical secretaries, an assistant practice manager & practice manager.
We are a SystmOne practice, using Patchs econsult system and Arden templates.
