Job summary
High Street Surgery in Cheshunt has a fantastic opportunity for a practice nurse to join our team on a full-time basis for 37.5 hours per week, although jobs share will also be considered, to be responsible for the delivery of general practice nursing to the whole practice population. The successful applicant will receive significant support from the clinical team to develop in this role.
The focus of the role is both the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with long term conditions, and the provision of preventative healthcare to the practice population.
You will work within the general practice team to meet the needs of patients and support the delivery of the services. You will be expected to demonstrate clinical and communication skills to a high standard and a commitment to improving nursing practice through on-going personal and professional development.

- Childhood and adult immunisations.
- Cervical screening.

We are a friendly, modern practice with 8300 patients in a purpose-built building which we moved into 3 years ago. A high QOF achieving practice with a Good CQC rating.
The clinical team of 2 GPs, 1 salaried GP, 1 pharmacist, 1 practice nurse, 1 HCA and 1 ANP are supported by an excellent reception and admin team resulting in a good work life balance.
We are part of the LVH PCN which brings in an array of PCN staff to our premises; Pharmacists, physiotherapists, social prescribers, health & wellbeing coach, paramedic, mental health nurse and care co-ordinators provide additional care to our patients.

- Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressing and wound care, and recording spirometry.
- Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice.
- Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions.
