Job summary
Laindon Medical Group has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice nurse to join our team on a full-time basis for 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday 8am - 6:30pm. Please note part time hours may be considered.
Due to expanding patient list, we are presently looking to expand our team. Whilst it would be desirable for candidates to have experience within practice nurse role, it is not essential as we are happy to tailor a training package for the right individual.

Main duties of the job
- Undertaking health assessments, administering medication and treatments, and performing diagnostic tests.
- Providing and evaluating a range of health interventions to ensure that patients health and social care needs are met.
- General health and well-being promotion as well as creating individual, person-centred plans for patients with, or at risk of, a long term condition.
- Managing and treating long-term conditions, in line with national and local policies and the practice needs.
- Reviewing medication for therapeutic effectiveness, in accordance with evidence-based practice as well as national and practice protocols; working with patients to support their adherence to prescribed treatments.
- Prioritising health problems and intervening appropriately, to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
- Supporting and managing the health needs of women presenting for sexual health and contraception, and cervical cytology consultations.
- Implementing, and participating in, vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children, including patients travelling abroad.
- Meeting the needs of patients presenting for opportunistic wound care.
- Hypertension review and management.
- Running asthma, COPD and diabetes clinics and reviews.
- New patient and health checks.

Our GPs work alongside advanced nurse practitioners, practice nurses, health care assistants, social prescribers, care coordinators and our own in-house pharmacy team.
