Job summary

Flitwick Surgery is looking for a medical records summariser/coder to join their busy patient services team. We will consider part-time hours (24 to 30 hours) or a job share across Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

The role primarily manages the clinical correspondence sent to the practice making sure it is entered correctly on to the patient clinical records and forwarded on to the appropriate practice team member in a timely fashion for action.

The post-holder will require an understanding of read coding and patient records so that the data entered on to the patient medical records enables the practice to maintain accurate patient records, disease registers and to identify patients who need specific care and signposting.

They may also summarise all records received at the surgery whether in paper form or electronically via GP2GP transfer as required. They may assist with the reviewing of computer-held records in preparation for patient access to their full medical records or third-party requests.
