Job summary
London Road Surgery in Wickford has an opportunity for a coder/summariser to join our busy practice support team, on a full or part-time basis as the hours are negotiable.
The role involves coding incoming patient correspondence as part of our document management system and summarising new patient records, therefore experience of SystmOne is essential.
Ideally you will be looking to enhance and maintain the existing high summarising standards in the practice.
Main duties of the job
- Data entry and read coding of relevant patient information and medical data into the clinical system;
- Scanning patient information into computerised records, including medical documents, hospital records and letters, as necessary;
- Read-coding the information into the partnership's clinical system;
- Retrieving paper notes as requested;
- Photocopying documents as required;
- Dealing with referrals to primary care;
- Processing practice post and emails;
- Reviewing and summarising medical records.

London Road Surgery has 13,800 patients and modern well-equipped premises, built in 2017, offering an excellent working environment. We are close to Wickford High Street and Wickford Station, so commuting by train is an option. We have a Good rating from the recent CQC inspection in October 2021, and have plans to update the document management pathway in the practice alongside a patient communication project including website development.
