Job summary
Ambrose Avenue Practice have an opportunity for an experienced finance manager who is able to deputise for the practice manager in their absence, to join our team on a full time basis. You will be the central point for financial management, spanning all facets of the organisation and, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks, dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
The role is primarily to maximise income generation for the practice but other duties include managing and reconciling bank accounts, finance administration, completing claims, budgets and forecasting, managing invoices, managing partner payments, liaising with HMRC/pensions regulators and practice accountants and complying with finance regulations and legislations.
Main duties of the job
- Managing practice budgets & seek to maximise income.
- Monitoring monthly income to ensure correct payments are received.
- Negotiating with the ICB/NHS England & in preparation & submission of regular data submissions, ensure the practice receives an appropriate & equitable allocation of resources.
- Keeping up-to-date with all PCN targets, including the PCN DES, IIF schemes, & other PCN funding.
- Overseeing the administration elements of QOF, liaising with GPs, Nursing staff & the Admin team
- Guiding the team to reach QOF targets.
- Monitoring & managing GP Billing, adding invoices to the system.
- Monitoring & maintaining an effective system for handling petty cash & cheques.
- Understanding & reporting on the financial implications of contract & legislation changes.
- Managing practice accounts; submit year-end figures promptly & liaise with the practice accountant.
- Monitoring cash flow & preparing monthly forecasts/budgets/reports to the practice manager & partners.
- Submitting claims for sickness & reimbursement as appropriate.
- Managing finance & accounts administration.
- Monitoring & reconciling income & expenditure statements.
- Managing partners drawings.
- Managing & monitoring PAYE for practice staff & maintain appropriate records.
- Managing contributions to the practice pension scheme(s) & maintain appropriate records under the Pensions Regulator body.
- Meeting Pensions Regulator standards & promptly cascade to staff, where appropriate.
- Submitting quarterly drug care data & information.
