Salaried GP

Job summary

We are looking for a 5 - 6 session salaried GP to join us.

You will have a personal list, enabling you to provide your patients with your best quality of care, continuity and familiarity. Stony Medical Centre is a partnership of 5 doctors and one salaried GP working from the health centre in Market Square, Stony Stratford, the first purpose built Health Centre in Milton Keynes having opened in 1974. We are a busy practice, but supportive, friendly, collaborative and with all doctors sharing the on call shifts.

We have two GP trainers in the practice reflecting our commitment to lifelong learning & we include all our doctors with the training of our GP Registrars. We have twice monthly education meetings & all clinical staff are encouraged to participate in selecting topics, running events & presenting learning. We believe that a group practice such as ours provides a choice of personal care from doctors with a wide range of medical interests.

Main duties of the job

We would be very interested in receiving the CV of any GP who may be interested in joining us. Within your application please ensure you provide an indication of when you would be available to start work with us, any restrictions you may have about days you would be available to work and an indication of salary expectations.

As part of the recruitment process we will undertake the standard checks as follows:

• Evidence of right to work;
• Current DBS certification;
• GMC registration;
• Evidence of specialist training/certification;
• Evidence of defence union cover;
• Reference check

We would be happy to consider applications from newly qualified GPs. We may be able to assist with some relocation costs for the right candidate.

About us

We are forward thinking, working closely with our ICB resulting in the development of our community Dermatology Clinic.

We are the lead practice within Watling Street PCN. Our PCN is supporting its member practices by delivering centralised HR support, payroll and bookkeeping. The PCN also host our scanning & workflow teams our secretaries and our prescription clerks. This creates physical space in our practice but also removes pressure from our clinical teams.

Watling Street PCN employs a community team including nurses, social prescribers & a social work assistant supporting our most vulnerable patients & those most at risk of avoidable hospital admissions. Within our network we also have access to mental health services for our adult patients, counselling/mentorship services for our younger patients (5-25 y/o), a podiatrist, Physiotherapy, Pharmacists & Paramedics.

Our PCN delivers all our Enhanced Access commitment & we would love to hear from GPs interested in being part of the team delivering those extra appointments to our patients. In that capacity we would be particularly interested if you have (or would like to develop) additional skills including perhaps Minor Surgery, Women's Health, ENT etc.
