Job summary
The Grove Medical Centre in Felixstowe has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice nurse, offered on a part-time basis with hours to be discussed at interview. The purpose of the role is to support our outstanding team who are passionate about providing outstanding care to our patients.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Chronic disease management.
- Health prevention.
- Implementation and evaluation of individual treatment plans.
- Manage and support patients with long term conditions.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Support the clinical team.
About us
The Grove Medical Centre is a bright and airy building in the seaside town of Felixstowe. The team who work at the surgery are a dedicated, supportive team who are innovative and forward thinking.
We were recently awarded the best performing surgery in the country for the roll out of the covid vaccine.

Qualifications
Essential
- A relevant nursing degree.
- Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
- Fundamentals of Practice Nursing course (General Practice Nurse Foundation Programme) or equivalent experience or qualifications.
- Competence to undertake asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.
Experience
Essential
- Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressing and wound care, and recording spirometry.
- Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice.
- Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions.
- Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
