Job summary
Wolverton Health Centre has an opportunity for a prescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team, at the heart of our patient care service. This role is offered on a part-time basis, for 25 hours per week with the times required below:
- Week 1: Mon, Wed & Fri 8am-1pm, Tues & Thurs 1pm-6pm
- Week 2: Mon, Wed & Fri 1pm-6pm, Tues & Thurs 8am-1pm

Main duties of the job
- Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking email requests and involves a rota system to cover the collection and drop off of all prescriptions from each site.
- Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
- Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
- Sending out review letters.
- Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs.
- Prescribing Incentive Scheme issue reports and letters, working around any guidelines issued to ensure budget reductions where possible.
- Medicine management liaise and discuss any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
- General ad hoc administration work.
- Flexibility to cover other areas when required multi-skill mix.
- Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.

We are a 16000+ patient practice with 5 GP partners working from a purpose built building. We are part of Nexus MK PCN which covers 5 practices and approx. 55000 patients.
