Practice Nurse

Job summary

Dell Medical Centre (Stanford-le-Hope Branch) has an opening from 1st April 2024 for an experienced practice nurse with an interest in chronic disease management (one position available at Grays and another at Stanford Le Hope).

You will hold an individual case load, and deal with patients presenting with long term conditions, minor injuries, and specific diseases within your level of competence.

The role covers the following clinical areas:

• Cervical cytology
• Childhood immunisations
• General injections (IM & SC)
• Basic travel advice & vaccinations (we are not a travel clinic)
• Wound care & suture removal
• Diabetes management
• Contraceptive and family planning advice (surgery provides contraceptive pill and injections)
• Undertake ECGs & blood pressure checks
• NHS health checks and new patients health checks
• COPD management
• Asthma management

Other duties would include:

• Maintaining infection control procedures
• Maintenance of emergency and resuscitation equipment
• Ensuring medicines are in date and replaced so that stocks are available for immediate use.
