Job summary

Paston Surgery, based in the expanding market town of North Walsham, 5 miles from the Norfolk coast, has an exciting opportunity for a GP Partner to join our busy, friendly medical practice. As an experienced GP you will be working a minimum of 5 sessions per week, Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday mornings, although other work patterns will be considered.

About us

We currently have 3 GP partners, and the position replaces a partner who will be leaving us in May 2024. Support is from 4 salaried GPs and a range of other clinicians and support staff.

Our busy, expanding market town in a perfect location to work and live, surrounded by tranquil and beautiful countryside and just 5 miles from the North Norfolk coast, while also just 15 miles from the bustling city of Norwich.

Our GMS practice is situated in the centre of North Walsham, serving 6,700 patients in our town and the surrounding villages. CQC have rated us as Good and we consistently achieve high QoF. We use SystmOne with Ardens, as our clinical system.

We are a GP training practice with close links to the medical school at UEA (University of East Anglia), our trainers offer first class support to all of our clinical team with a track record of retaining and developing our GP registrars.

Substantial expansion of our town is planned and so we are looking at new premises, so this is a very exciting time in planning our needs and looking at future services we hope to provide to our patients. Joining us a partner will provide an opportunity to help shape our future.

As well as assisting in the running of our business, you would undertake all the clinical duties associated with a GP working in primary care.

The practice has worked hard to foster a good work life balance for all of its staff and there is only a small requirement from enhanced access. We have a mixed appointment system involving duty and bookable clinics. All clinical admin is shared on a pro-rata basis to sessions worked.

Essential

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
  • Be on the NHSE medical performers list
