Job summary

The Writtle Surgery is looking for an up to full-time practice manager to lead the organisation. We would welcome applications from all interested parties, as it might be possible to consider a hybrid approach to filling this post.

Main duties of the job

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the practice, including staff management, scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care.
  • Implementation of efficient administrative processes and workflows.
  • Management of practice finances, budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Leading and mentoring staff members to achieve their full potential.
  • Facilitating communication and teamwork amongst all team members.
  • Addressing patient concerns and feedback to maintain patient satisfaction.
  • Contributing to strategic planning and business development efforts, both within the practice and with the primary care network.

About us

The Writtle Surgery is a 3 partner semi-rural dispensing practice of approximately 8000 patients. We have 3 salaried GPs, and a fully staffed team including nurses, dispensers, administrators, clinical pharmacists, and receptionists. We are an active member of our PCN.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • Proven experience in management, ideally in a primary care or other healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting expertise.

Desirable

  • Experience in business administration, either healthcare or a related field.
  • HR experience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance.
  • Proficiency in project management tools.
  • Experience of using primary care clinical IT systems (ideally TPP SystmOne).
