Job summary
We are a family-doctor surgery, providing a service that scores consistently high in the GP patient survey, in a semi-rural area of the Dengie Peninsula, Essex and we are looking to welcome a new GP in a salaried role with a view to partnership, for which support will be offered.
We would like someone to join us for at least 6 sessions per week but are open to all possibilities, full or part-time, to suit the ideal person. We will offer annual leave at 6 weeks and study leave of 1 week per year (pro-rated for part-time) with a salary of £11,000 per session per year.
Main duties of the job
The salaried GP is responsible for providing medical care and services to the practice population, managing a clinical caseload and dealing with a diverse range of health needs. This will include, but is not limited to, surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, administration, complying with the practices contracts (GMS/enhanced services), and the education and training of junior/trainee clinical staff.
About us
Our friendly surgery team includes 2 partners, a salaried GP, ANPs, nurse prescribers and HCAs all supported by an experienced admin and reception team, to serve approximately 6000 patients, in the village of Southminster, Essex. We offer face-to-face, remote consultations and will be hosting the Extended Access service providers from the surgery on a regular basis. We are a training practice, using SystmOne and a member of the Dengie and South Woodham Ferrers PCN with good relationships between all members and the wider PCN team which includes paramedics, clinical pharmacists, social prescribers and health and wellbeing coaches all supported by an experienced management team.
The village has good public transport links to nearby Maldon, Chelmsford and is ideally situated for travel to London with approximately 50-minute journey by train on a branch line terminating in the village. Our local area boasts schools of a high standard and numerous new housing developments are situated in nearby villages and towns. Surrounded by countryside and close to the east coast, there are lots of opportunities in the area for a wide variety of leisure pursuits e.g. sailing, walking, paddle-boarding.
