Job summary

Due to the size of our Group, the Beacon Health Group is an exceptionally diverse and forward thinking practice. Currently we are recruiting for a non-prescribing clinician of any medical profession to join our team in our duty Hub.

Main duties of the job

The duty hub is where our team for handling all 'on the day' care are based. This is a team, led by a GP, of clinicians of multiple skills and professions that handle all on the day care. This role will involve telephone triage and appointments, face to face appointments and home visits.

About us

The Beacon Health Group Partnership operates over three sites. The main site, Danbury Medical Centre is based in the village of Danbury. We have two smaller branch sites which are Mountbatten House Surgery (based in North Springfield) and Moulsham Lodge Surgery (based in central Chelmsford).The Beacon Health Group is now able to offer our patients a wider variety of services ranging from chronic disease clinics to minor surgery services (performed within the new purpose built Minor Surgery Suite based at Danbury). We also provide Friday extended morning appointments between 7.00am-8.00am, Monday and Wednesday evening appointments between 6.30pm-8.00pm provided by GPs and Nurses.With our patients at the forefront of every decision made, the Beacon Health Group offers further value to the health of our existing patients an also that of new patients coming to the area.

Job responsibilities

We are happy to accept part time or full time applicants, though the working pattern will require 'full days' working.

Below are some of the core responsibilities of the Non-Prescribing Hub Clinician:

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) within The Beacon Health Group
  • Assess and triage patients, including same day triage and, as appropriate, provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the primary care team.
  • Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management where appropriate, including signposting patients to the PCNs social prescribing service and, where appropriate, other community or voluntary services.
  • Be able to:
    • Perform specialist health checks and reviews within their scope of practice and in line with local and national guidance
    • Perform and interpret ECGs
    • Provide an alternative model to urgent and same day GP home visit for the network.
    • Communicate at all levels across organisations ensuring that an effective, person-centred service is delivered
    • Communicate proactively and effectively with all colleagues across the multi-disciplinary team, attending and contributing to meetings as required

  • Qualifications, skills and experience required:
  • Professional registration with relevant professional body: NMC, HCPC or GPhC
  • Post-graduate qualification in specific speciality, or equivalent experience
  • Post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in specialty area
  • Evidence of on-going CPD
  • Advanced clinical assessment skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform in stressful and complex situation
  • Sound clinical reasoning & decision making
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to inspire and lead a tea
