Job summary

Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is looking to appoint an experienced practice operations manager on a full time basis, of 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
  • A commitment to support the delivery of excellent patient care with vision, willingness and drive.
  • Ability to manage change through motivation and leadership.
  • Excellent leadership and people skills.
  • Meet NHS targets and adapt to change within a profitable, effective and efficient working environment.
  • Motivate staff and be able to delegate where appropriate.

If you are an experienced operations manager looking for a new challenge, then we would love to hear from you. All applicants should have the following skills and qualifications:

Essential

  • Relevant operations experience, preferably in a primary care setting;
  • Experience of managing teams and performance management;
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Knowledge and experience of IT;
  • Self-motivated, with a forward-thinking, solution-focused approach;
  • The ability to develop, implement and embed policies, procedures and guidelines;
  • Experience of working in an ever-evolving environment, with an ability to cope with regular change;
  • Excellent organisational, management and planning skills, IT skills and communication skills;
  • Ability to implement and manage change effectively;
  • Ability to identify training and development needs in self and other as well as experience of appraising staff;
  • Empathetic manner and approach when dealing with patients;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - with ability to manage confidential information appropriately;
  • Knowledge of quality systems and key performance indicators.
