Due to the size of our Group, the Beacon Health Group is an exceptionally diverse and forward thinking practice. Currently we are recruiting for the role of Pharmacy Technician to join our team based across all our sites. We have 2 positions available on a job share basis with the rate for the position from £15.00 to £16.13 per hour, subject to experience.
Main duties of the job
This new role will be an exciting opportunity to become a part of our multidisciplinary team at The Danbury Medical Centre.You will work under the supervision of the senior clinical pharmacist, and the lead GP.
About us
The Beacon Health Group Partnership operates over three sites. The main site, Danbury Medical Centre is based in the village of Danbury. We have two smaller branch sites which are Mountbatten House Surgery (based in North Springfield) and Moulsham Lodge Surgery (based in central Chelmsford).
The Beacon Health Group is now able to offer our patients a wider variety of services ranging from chronic disease clinics to minor surgery services (performed within the new purpose built Minor Surgery Suite based at Danbury). We also provide Friday extended morning appointments between 7.00am-8.00am, Monday and Wednesday evening appointments between 6.30pm-8.00pm provided by GPs and Nurses.

Job responsibilities
Key duties & responsibilities include:
- Working with the senior clinical pharmacist, clinical pharmacists team, lead GP, dispensary, QOF team, reception, and other members of the wider practice team.
- To support the achievement of the practice/PCN DES/IIF prescribing Quality and Outcomes Framework targets.
- Dealing with medication queries from patients and queries from clinicians in line with agreed protocols.
- Liaise with the wider health care team including community nurses, care home staff and the Farleigh Hospice with medication queries when required, and within competency.
- Conduct medication reconciliation following discharge from hospital, clinic visits and other transfers of care (e.g. new patients, care home residents), to ensure that medication changes are safely implemented in a timely fashion with the support of the clinical pharmacist when required.
- Liaise with secondary and primary care colleagues to ensure correct medicines are continued following the transfer of care when required.

- GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician
- BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in pharmacy services
- Accredited checking technician (desirable)
- Experience in a hospital, community or primary care pharmacy
- Excellent Communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of pharmacy law, ethics & current legislation
- Good pharmacy knowledge including terminology
