Job summary

Due to retirement, Leagrave Surgery in Luton has an opening for a GP to join our established team consisting of a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff.We are flexible and would consider part time, job share, salaried GPs or partners. Working as a locum to meet our team and get a feel for our practice would also be considered.

Main duties of the job

The GP will provide a mixture of face-to-face, telephone triage and online consultations. GP partners are also required to do visits when clinically needed. We look after one nursing home (2 units of 15 patients) and a Learning Disability Home of 10 patients and do a weekly ward round to review patients.

About us

Leagrave Surgery has circa 9,200 patients. We are situated in a purpose-built building, with parking, in the Leagrave area of Luton. We are part of Hatters Health Primary Care Network which covers patients from 6 local practices.We are a friendly and supportive team.

Our practice has two full time GP partners, a physician associate and 4 regular long term locums. Our nursing team consists of two practice nurses, HCA and phlebotomist. We have support staff such as medical receptionists, administration team, workflow coders, a note summariser and a medical secretary. To support staff, we have a practice manager and a patient services manager.

We are a supportive partnership, proud of our clinical care and patient services, at the heart of our local community. The practice currently has 2 GP Partners, 4 long term locums, 2 Nurses, and a very skilled multi-disciplinary team including Pharmacists, HCA's and PAs.

We are enthusiastic about medical education, and we are part of the first PCN in BLMK to successfully complete our application to become a PCN learning environment which allows us to take on a variety of students and further grow our multi-disciplinary team.We are a mature PCN, and all practices work well together under the leadership of Dr Haydn Williams, GP Partner Sundon Medical Centre and Sarah Bunn PCN Business Manager.

Staff welfare and patient care are at the core of our ethos. We are looking for someone who is proactive and would like to help us develop our services further not just in the practice but also in our PCN. We are part of Hatters Health PCN, which is very proactive; we work well together enabling us to look at redesigning the way we offer services and to reach required targets by utilising all our ARRS roles

We can offer 10 or 15 minute appointment slots, flexible start times, dedicated admin time, full medical indemnity, 5 weeks holiday and 1 weeks paid study leave per year (pro rata), regular in-house meetings & teaching sessions and free Car parking and a competitive salary.
