Prescription Clerk

Job summary

Walton Medical Centre are looking for an individual to work in a team environment undertaking processing patient prescription requests.The hours for this role are flexible and we will consider both full and part hours.

Main duties of the job

• You will process repeat prescription requests to a high standard with care and attention to detail and assist patients and staff with prescription related queries.
• You will liaise with GPs, practice staff, pharmacists and secondary care colleagues as well as having direct contact with patients and carers.
• You will provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

About us

The Colte Partnership is a GP super-partnership, formed in June 2017. It brought together 9 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approx. 98,000 patients. With the combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county.

As well as general practice, we offer extended access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and social prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of clinical research; and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon.

We work as three collaborative primary care networks (PCNs) which span across Colchester and Tendring.There is a wide socio-economic demographic served within this area, which provides an interesting and varied case mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.
