Job summary
The Humbleyard Practice is seeking a capable and highly motivated practice nurse to join our team as nurse manager. This is a leadership opportunity for a nurse with enthusiasm, commitment, and good communication skills to develop our loyal and well-established nursing team. The role will involve applying your primary-care nursing experience to help both experienced and new-to-primary care nurses develop their skills and confidence within a busy 3-surgery general practice setting.

About us
We are a large, semi-rural, dispensing, research and GP training practice, operating over three surgery sites just to the southwest of the fine city of Norwich. We have a fast-growing list size of 22,000 patients and we are part of the 5-practice Ketts Oak Primary Care Network.

Generous and appropriate protected management time will be offered to achieve this important activity and other leadership tasks. This includes NHS leadership training for the successful candidate.
The nurse manager will also be required to provide more general leadership and management alongside the GP partners and management team in our aim of providing good quality patient care.

Essential
- A relevant nursing degree.
- Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential
- Practice nurse experience.
- Competence to undertake some or all of asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.
- Evidence of clinical skills and experience in some of all of treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressing and wound care, and recording spirometry.
- Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice.
- Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions.
- Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
