Job summary

The Humbleyard Practice is seeking a capable and highly motivated GP reception manager to join our team as patient services manager. This is also a leadership opportunity for an experienced receptionist, care coordinator or care navigator, who is looking for the next step in their career.

Main duties of the job

The patient services manager will involve applying your primary care knowledge and experience to help our receptionist/administrators develop their skills and confidence across a busy 3-surgery general practice setting. The manager will lead our team of reception and administration staff to ensure we provide a responsive and caring service for our patients and carers.

The patient services manager will also be required to provide more general leadership and management alongside the GP partners and management team to provide increasingly good quality patient care.

About us

We are a large, semi-rural, three-site dispensing, research and GP training Practice operating over three surgery sites just to the southwest of the fine city of Norwich. We have a fast-growing list size of over 22,200 patients and we are part of the 5-practice Ketts Oak Primary Care Network.

Desirable

  • GCSE English (C or above) and at least three others.
  • Reception and/or care navigation experience within general practice (at least three years or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable management capability and an understanding of team leadership.

  • Confident and capable in the use of IT in general and the use of clinical systems (ideally SystmOne).
  • Sensitive and empathetic to patients and carers in distressing situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and help colleagues to do the same.
