Job summary

Baddow Village Surgery is recruiting for a workflow clerk to assist GPs with the flow of correspondence that comes into the partnership.

Main duties of the job

The workflow clerk will deal with hospital letters, reports, patient communications, etc. identifying any key clinical data from correspondence, such as new diagnoses, peak flow measures, BP recordings, height, weight, smoking status and read coding the information accordingly.

Essential

  • Experienced medical administrators, with excellent IT and typing skills.
  • Coding experience is required
  • SystemOne experience desired
  • Experienced in the use of medical terminology and read codes;
  • Adaptable and friendly, with strong administration, time management and organisational skills;
  • Excellent communicators, both written and orally;
  • Able to work in a confidential and discreet manner;
  • Able to "think on their feet" in a busy working environment;
  • Able to multi-task, work hard and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure;
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as comfortable working independently;
  • Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
