Job Title: Respiratory Physiologist
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week. Monday- Friday typically as per local rota, varying shift pattern.
Location: North Solihull, Birmingham
Following the Michael Richards report, in which it was highlighted that diagnostic services should be delivered taking a new approach to provide more accessibility to people in the community, away from acute settings, we at InHealth are excited to be partnering with the NHS to develop new Community Diagnostic Centres across the country to support this vision.
We are delighted to be opening a new Community Diagnostic Centre in North Solihull in March 2025, and are actively recruiting now.
Right now, we are looking to recruit Respiratory Physiologists into the team, to leading our respiratory clinics. .
Main duties of the job
What will you do:
As a Respiratory Physiologist, as a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for performing and supporting the reporting of high quality respiratory diagnostic tests.
-Performing multiple respiratory examinations to a high quality and with precision
-Record all data accurately within the policy
-Interpret assessments as required
-Supporting the patient pathway within respiratory, ensuring patients understand the procedure they are about to undertake and any reasonable adjustments are made
-Maintaining the quality control of the equipment
-Training and mentoring the team
-Provide reports as requested by your manager
-Assist and participate in audits as required.

- Undertake a range of diagnostic assessments following ARTP guidelines, including spirometry, gas transfer, static lung volumes, and more.
- Assist with specialist and complex diagnostic assessments.
- Produce basic reports and communicate interpretations to the referring medical team and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure continual service development and improvement by staying updated on specialist knowledge, obtaining memberships in professional bodies, and participating in national and/or international societies.
- Maintain the functionality of equipment used in lung function assessments through calibration, validation techniques, and quality assurance procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, participants, service users, and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate performance of investigations.
- Provide support/mentoring to Trainee Healthcare Scientists
- Line manage junior team members
We are looking for someone who: - BSc in Healthcare Science (Physiological Science) or equivalent with a specialisation in Respiratory and Sleep Science.
- ARTP Professional Qualifications.
- Current registration with the RCCP or AHCS.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Good Clinical Practice.
