Job summary

You will have overall operational responsibility for the Failsafe Team ensuring that as a CHIS Service, we meet all mandated requirements of the Service Specification to failsafe newborn screening, BCG and Hepatitis B selective immunisation programmes. You will ensure that failsafe systems and processes are robust so that clinical services are alerted where children have missed or have no record of screening and immunisation interventions and that failsafe administrative activities support the timely recording of results.

Main duties of the job

Work within the Child Health Information Service (CHIS) to ensure that all data about the Healthy Child and Screening and Immunisation Programmes is of the highest possible quality. Ensure that the CHIS meets its responsibilities to failsafe newborn blood spot screening, newborn infant physical examination and hearing screening programmes in the service delivery area. Ensure that the CHIS meets all its obligations to failsafe and support the delivery of the selective immunisation schedules for the neonatal and infant Hepatitis B and BCG programmes. Daily monitoring of children in the service delivery area to ensure they have been screened, that results are complete and accurate on the CHIS record and have been sent to the relevant health professionals and parents.

Role: Administration Manager (Child Health Information Service, CHIS)

Location: Hybrid working with travel when required to one of our office sites in North West London (Harrow) or South East London (Erith/Belvedere)   Salary: Negotiable

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Managing Failsafe Officers in line with InHealth Intelligence HR polices, monitoring their work and performance, ensuring that standard operating procedures and acceptable working practices are followed
  • Ensure that staff are trained to a competent level in all aspects of the CHIS and failsafe functions
  • Lead on the completion of all failsafe related audits associated with screening, hepatitis-B and BCG programmes
  • Producing and disseminate failsafe, screening and selective immunisation BCG and Hepatitis-B reports for submission to internal and external stakeholders and complying to internal, local and national reporting standards

Your experience

  • Working in child health, failsafe, antenatal newborn screening, maternity, childrens services and or a similar public health role.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working within a data quality processing, data analytical or similar role.
  • Health care information services and using clinical database systems experience.
  • Compiling and analysing data to present to a range of audiences.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office applications and Excel (minimum intermediate level) and other reporting software to interrogate and present data in useful ways.
