Job summary

Diagnostic World are a leading provider of NHS and Private healthcare with services delivered from Community Diagnostic Centres, Community Health Centres and within our fleet of mobile and relocatable units. Within our service offering, we provide General and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound to patients across the Midlands & South-East on a referred and self-referred basis. We are seeking a Clinical Trainer to support our Ultrasound services across Kent, Leicester, Walsall and Surrey which form our Midlands & South-East business unit. There will be regular travel to Leicester and Walsall, and occasional travel to Kent/Surrey. Travel expenses will be covered by Diagnostic World.

Main duties of the job

Undertake ultrasound procedures in line with existing modality specific clinical guidelines and protocols (aligned with RCR & SOR Standards). Undertake examinations in line with the patient referrals adhering to organisational guidelines. Manage a safe, effective, caring and well led environment responsive to our patients, customer, and staff requirements. Provide training and support for trainee Sonographers in all areas of scanning and reporting. Support the Operational Management Team with operational queries and cover clinics as a Sonographer as required. Investigate and respond to service user complaints as appropriate and as directed by management. Investigate and manage incidents reported through our incident reporting system as appropriate and as directed by management. Provide second opinions upon request and review reports for 2nd reporting as required. Direct and supervise the workload of the sonographers under your training and supervision. Undertaking a range of audit assignments, involving all aspects of Ultrasound, following consultation with the Consultant Radiologist, Clinical Lead and Head of Service Delivery.

  • Have a full understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act, Information Governance Statement of Compliance and Caldicott Principles
  • Understand and be able to deliver on the Care Quality Commission fundamental standards for health care.
  • Significant clinical experience as a qualified sonographer, undertaking a wide range of procedures.
  • Can support and train colleagues.
  • Able to engage and motivate team members.
  • Experienced in performing and managing ultrasound clinical audits.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
