Job summary

As the UKs largest specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions, our Digital team at InHealth continues to grow, to support our expanding range of services. As an Imaging Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in PACS, RIS, and medical imaging clinical workflows to maintain and enhance the PACS, RIS, and reporting processes, in alignment with agreed product roadmaps and strategy. Reporting to the Head of Digital Strategy, you will be the key Subject Matter Expert (SME) for support matters, collaborating with clinical staff, site managers, the Patient Referral Centre team, and internal IT support teams to resolve incidents, problems, and requests. You will advise the Imaging Product Manager on PACS, RIS features, user needs, and contribute to the creation of product strategy and roadmaps. This is a hybrid role and we are happy for you to be based anywhere in the country. There would be an expectation for you to work out of your nearest InHealth office (on an agreed pattern), and to attend meetings in our High Wycombe office where necessary.

Main duties of the job

Provide PACS & RIS Maintenance & Support. Establish and execute the best service support model for RIS and PACS systems. Ensure seamless image data storage, retrieval, and interpretation by configuring and maintaining PACS software. Set up PACS and RIS connections for new services and clients. Act as the PACS/RIS SME for imaging projects or other projects with dependencies on PACS/RIS. Maximize the functionality of PACS and RIS, avoiding manual interventions. Own and manage the PACS and RIS improvement backlog. Support the definition of imaging products roadmap and strategy in collaboration with the Imaging Product Owner and Imaging Business Analyst.

  • 3+ years of PACS, RIS support and project delivery experience.
  • Experience with PACS applications (Sectra, Biotronics, Cimar, or equivalent) in a clinical setting.
  • Experience supporting clinical radiology workflows.
  • Understanding of DICOM standard.
  • Understanding of HL7 and FHIR standards (desirable).
  • Experience with integrating PACS and RIS systems.
  • Experience as PACS or/and RIS vendor technical support (a plus).
  • Understanding of integration engines such as Mirth, Cloverleaf (desirable).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
