Job summary
Were looking for a Lead Vascular Scientist to join our Ultrasound team in London, on a full-time, temporary basis. You will be based at UCLH and within our London Community Clinics, with one day per week working from home. Initially, this role will be a 6 month fixed-term contract.
We provide Vascular Ultrasound to patients at ULCH and across London on a referred and self-referred basis. You will clinically lead and participate in providing a high-quality clinical service in non-invasive vascular investigations at UCLH and community vascular ultrasound.
You will make healthcare better for our patients by cultivating and nurturing a team of Vascular Scientists to deliver a high standard ultrasound service. You will provide operational and clinical leadership in your area and throughout the organisation. You will inspire and motivate your team to consistently deliver a safe and effective service every day.
Main duties of the job
Undertake vascular ultrasound procedures in line with existing modality specific clinical guidelines and protocols (SVT, RCR and SOR Standards, Code of Clinical Practice).
Compile reports as required by management (i.e. activity forecasting, month end reports/financial billing, quarterly reporting).
Ensure copies of all reports are stored in the correct central designated folder and that all scans are reported the same working day.
Direct and supervise the workload of the staff under your supervision, managing people related queries as required.
Drive team to ensure excellent patient experience, providing feedback via patient satisfaction survey completion and reporting.

- Be an accredited Vascular Scientist with a Diploma in Medical Ultrasound and a member of an appropriate professional body.
- Have experience in clinical audits, compiling results and presenting outcomes.
- Have a full understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act, Information Governance Statement of Compliance and Caldicott Principles.
- Have excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
- Have developed interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Previous NHS experience in Vascular Ultrasound would be advantageous, but not essential.
