This will involve the development of recommendations following analysis of multiple factors including published evidence, availability of other diagnostic tests, tracer sustainability and supply, potential benefit to patients, capacity and costs.
The role holder will work with the Cancer Programme of Care and national Clinical Policy Team to review the current clinical commissioning policy ensuring alignment with clinical pathways, national guidance, and evolving diagnostic needs. This includes critically reviewing proposals for radiotracer applications, and indications to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning.
The role holder will also support the development of a bespoke methodology for evaluating potential policy amendments, new indications and radiotracers to include the establishment of a PET-CT directory which will form the basis of the new Clinical Commissioning Policy.
The role holder will be closely supported by the National Clinical Policy and the Cancer Programme of Care teams.
