Job summary

As a Programme Support Officer in our Welsh NHS Confederation team, you will:

  • provide effective administrative and programme infrastructure support to the All Wales NHS Chief Executives Peer Group Programme coordinated by the Welsh NHS Confederation.
  • liaise closely with Executive Directors of NHS Wales organisations, corresponding with stakeholders
  • plan and manage internal and external meetings
  • act as a point of contact for programme queries.
You will be working as part of a small team to help achieve strategic and business objectives of the programme by supporting a number of the NHS Wales Executive Peer Groups, such as Medical Directors or Directors of Digital. You will supervise the day to day work of the Programme Support Officer.

The role is integral to the successful functioning of a Peer Group and to connecting the cross-organisation workstreams.

Main duties of the job

This role provides effective administrative and programme infrastructure support to the Wales NHS Chief Executives Peer Group Programme coordinated by the Welsh NHS Confederation. You will be working as part of a small team to help achieve strategic and business objectives of the Programme by supporting a number of the NHS Wales Executive Peer Groups, such as Medical Directors or Directors of Digital.

Reporting to the Engagement Manager (the Programme Team lead), the post holder will be responsible for the infrastructure and delivery of the Programmes administration and clerical support including liaising closely with Executive Directors of NHS Wales organisations, corresponding with stakeholders; planning and managing internal and external meetings; and acting as a point of contact for Programme queries.

The role is integral to the successful functioning of a Peer Group and to connecting the cross-organisation workstreams.

  • Supervision of the day to day work of the Programme Support Officer in all aspects of the programme infrastructure.
  • Provide day to day support across the programme portfolio to enable the work to be delivered on time.
  • Provide a full range of administrative support to Chairs of a number of NHS Executive Peer Groups with the organisation and co-ordination of meetings to ensure effective and efficient administration.

  • Strong writing skills
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues at different levels in different organisations
