Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join NTW Solutions Limited has arisen to join our Portering Team.

The position will be permanent working 37.5 hours, earning £11.44 per hour (£22,384 per annum).

Main duties of the job

To provide a portering service to service users and ensure that work activity protects and maintains the safety and dignity of all patients.

To carry out all duties within the hospital and whilst working on client duties, in accordance with all company and client operational procedures.
To comment on policies and procedures where appropriate and required to do so.
To participate in 'on the job' and externally provided training in manual handling and lifting.
Responsibility for delivery and collection of laundry both internally and off-site (to and from the residential units and kitchens to the external laundry facilities).
Removal and correct disposal of potentially hazardous substances i.e. clinical and general waste via the approved trust system.
Delivery of stores to all departments and units on/off site.
Responsibility for the sorting and delivery of mail to all areas within the client sites.
Responsible for drug deliveries both on and off site.
Responsible for delivery of emergency samples to pathology laboratories of external hospitals.
Removal of furniture around the site between offices and residential areas as and when requested.
To receive working instructions and undertake tasks as directed.
Organise day-to-day work under the direction of the Portering Supervisor/General Services Manager or designated deputy.
Participate in internal and Trust staff surveys and audits as required.
Personally generated information.
Completes timesheets.
