An exciting opportunity of Assistant Site Manager has become available within NTW Solutions at St Nicholas Hospital.
A summery of the post includes:
To assist the Sector site manager with the day to day operational responsibility for a range of Soft FM services covering hospital sites and community premises within one of the 4 sectors associated with CNTW NHSFT (The Trust). These Soft FM services may include the following departments:
Soft FM; Catering, Cafes, Domestic Services, Laundry & linen, Portering, transport, security, Waste, switchboard, receptions, store
Main duties of the job
Main duties includesupporting and assisting the Sector Site Manager in managing a direct labour force (DLF) carrying out the Soft FM functions to ensure a safe and efficient service to patients, clients and others. All work to be undertaken in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures.
The post holder will be expected to undertake all essential responsibilities of the Sector site manager in their absence.

Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Knowledge within the multidiscipline field of Facilities Management.
- In-depth knowledge of Food Hygiene Legislation, Health and Safety, COSHH and Risk Assessment is required. A practical and in-depth appreciation of Hazard Analysis/Risk Assessments
- Must have people management and leadership skills with an ability to motivate and control a large multi-skilled workforce.
- Ability to manage change
- Good communication skills for dealing with staff, patients and public.
- A working knowledge of the legislative and statutory environment concerning the provision of Soft FM services
- High level of literacy and numeracy skills.
- Report writing and verbal communication skills

- Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) in a Facilities Management subject or an equivalent technical qualification in a related field.
- Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate or Diploma or will be required to obtain one within first 6 months of appointment
- Affiliate membership (or working towards Membership) of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM)
- The post holder is required to maintain a programme of continual professional development (CPD) to ensure current best practice is achieved.
