Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NTW Solutions Ltd, in the role of Head of Estates.
The suitably experienced and qualified professional will work as part of a multi-disciplinary Estates team across several main sites covering the North East and Cumbria.
Reporting to the Operational Director - Estates, the post holder will be responsible for the company wide operational compliance and senior management of the estate across all sectors including all properties where services are delivered. The post holder will also be working alongside colleagues in the delivery of a capital investment and development programme.
Main duties of the job
This post includes responsibility for engineering and building operation and maintenance across a range of properties, staff leadership, managing backlog maintenance, budgetary control, providing advice and guidance on statutory requirements throughout the Trust and ensuring required standards are achieved. Our focus at all times is on the safe and efficient provision of an estates service to support the delivery of World class healthcare and an excellent patient experience.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a proven track record of achievement in managing within an estates environment and possess excellent people management skills, knowledge and experience of managing a diverse portfolio and a drive to provide outstanding quality services and facilities for our clients. You must be confident in working with professionals at all levels and be a proactive, committed member of the team.

Qualifications
Essential
- Specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and practice. Professional knowledge acquired through a technical degree (or equivalent) plus specialist knowledge acquired through post-graduate courses to masters level or with significant equivalent experience at that level
- Management qualification
- Full Chartered Status with Corporate membership (or working towards) of an appropriate institution (CIBSE, IHEEM, RICS etc)
- Evidence of CPD
- UK Driving License as travelling between sites is required
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Extensive knowledge of NHS Health care buildings, systems and managements and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of specialist NHS related practices and procedures.
- Specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and practice
- Working knowledge of best practice in procurement including contract knowledge
- Advanced keyboard and IT skills including the use of "Autocad", and design software systems
- Proven ability to develop a culture that improves Quality Prioritisation skills and direction of attention to key issues
