Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NTW Solutions Limited, in the role of Energy & Low Carbon Manager. The role will help drive forward the transformational change required to minimise the environmental impact of Cumbria, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS (CNTW), including delivery of our ambitious net zero carbon and green plan.
The suitably experienced and qualified professional will work as part of a multi-disciplinary Estates team across several main sites covering Cumbria, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. The role will have a particular focus on carbon emission reduction within the CNTW Group. The post holder will be predominately located at St Nicholas hospital, Gosforth.

Main duties of the job
Manage and take responsibility for Energy and Sustainability across the Cumbria, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS (CNTW) group estate, driving forward the transformational change required to minimise the environmental impact of CNTW, including delivery of our ambitious net zero carbon and green plan.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team the role holder will cover a broad range of energy and sustainability related areas. The post holder will ensure and oversee that the Group achieves best practice and value for money in relation to all aspects of energy, utilities, services and the environment.
The post holder is expected to undertake duties throughout the CNTW Group's premises.

Essential
- An appropriate Degree or equivalent in a related discipline
- Have or be working towards Membership of a relevant institution (Energy Institute, Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment etc)
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Must have good understanding of construction and building services within healthcare premises
- Ability to manage, prioritise and deliver a number of projects and work programmes within timescale
- Knowledge of reducing energy usage and reducing carbon emissions: Knowledge of NHS Energy and sustainability guidance (HTM 07-01,07-02,07-04,07-07) / Knowledge of UK energy and sustainability guidance such as climate change Act and the CRC
- Good technical knowledge of planning, construction and design
- Good IT skills
- Good knowledge of business, economics and law
- Good problem-solving ability
- Be able to meet the mobility needs of the post

- Significant experience of energy management in a large complex organisation including billing and invoicing
- Experience of: oManaging Energy and water in a healthcare/commercial environment oUtility management and billing/invoicing oHealth and Safety legislation and risk assessments oHBN's, HTM'S and HGN's oSpecialist building services heating systems, DHWS, AHU oEmergency procedures and systems
- Proven track record of leading, delivering and/or implementing projects across an organisation, including at a senior level where necessary, within a timescale
